Open the Eyes of My Heart

When our hearts are humble toward God and others, they’re open to truth.  Yet, when we believe our own wisdom (pride) is sufficient for the issues of life, our hearts become closed.   Humility and pride determine the openness of our heart.Version 2

  • Do you want the eyes of your heart open to His truth, grace and forgiveness?
  • Do you want the eyes (of your heart) focused
    and clear, so that you can see exactly what it is He is calling you to do, (to) grasp the immensity of the glorious way of life he has for Christians (Eph 1:18 The Message – emphasis added)
  • Do you desire a heart that is open wide to His wonderful purposes?

Psalm 119:18
Open my eyes, that I may behold wonderful things from your law.  – NASB
Ephesians 1: 18 & 19
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe.
~~~~~
OPEN MY HEART
Open my eyes that I may see
The wonders in life you have for me;
That darkness would fade and glory would rise
That life would spring forth and Jesus surprise.
~
Open my heart that I may know
The love you send forth, from heaven bestow;
A love that is filling, both fresh and free
A love that is real and so near to me.
~
Open my mind that I may take in, the things You desire
Not things of the world, where so often I’ve been.
That life may fill up and grace may abound
When truth hits my ears, I’ll cherish it’s sound.
~
Oh Lord do I know that my heart and my eyes
Have often been shut to block out the wise;
So open me up and pour Yourself in
That I may live and let others see Him.
Prayer
Lord, please open the eyes of my heart today, so I may may know you more clearly, love you more dearly, and follow you more nearly, day by day.  Lord, help me to humble myself to see myself as truly needing You.  May You grant this to me this very day oh Lord.  In Jesus’ name I pray.  Amen.
